Carrying the Torch

Reimagining the Art of Jackson Bailey

For those who don’t know, I’m Jay Bailey — the son of artist Jackson Bailey II, whose paintings, drawings, and visionary works shaped decades of creativity and culture across Georgia, the White House and beyond. After many years, I’ve taken on a powerful mission:
to reimagine, restore, and bring my father’s artwork into the 21st century using today’s technology.
These pieces were created as far back as 60 years ago. Some were last touched in the year 2000. But their meaning — the emotion, the storytelling, the legacy — still speaks loudly today. This project isn’t just about preserving old art.
It’s about transforming it.
It’s about carrying the torch forward.
As I revisit each piece, I’m blending the past with modern tools, visuals, and techniques — creating a bridge between my father’s era and 2025. I’m honoring the spirit of his original work while breathing new life into it for a new generation to experience.Over the coming days and weeks, I’ll be releasing a series of videos showcasing this journey — one piece at a time. This is for my father.
This is for the legacy.
This is Carrying the Torch.
Stay tuned — the rebirth has begun.— Jay Bailey

Carrying the Torch: Reimagining the Art of Jackson Bailey

I’m Jay Bailey — son of artist Jackson Bailey II.
I’ve begun a project to bring my father’s artwork (some painted 60 years ago) into the 21st century using today’s technology.
This isn’t just preservation — it’s transformation.
A legacy reborn for 2025 and beyond.

In Image #2, the sky and colors have once again been thoughtfully reimagined and professionally re-colored—creating a second variation of the original work. This version continues to honor the essence of my father’s painting while exploring a fresh visual interpretation through the modern tools of 2025 and beyond.
